Contour-Based Warping

چکیده
In this paper, a new warping technique called contour-based warping is presented. Feature contours of objects are de ned and mapped to their target shapes. This allows the user greater exibility in de ning the warping with minimal e ort. Two image warping methods are introduced in this paper and both are based on the concept of mapping contours. The peel-and-resample method can warp simple image objects with a single inner-feature in a short time, but su ers from the problems of misalignment and inability of handling multiple features. The wave propagationmethod solves these two problems. Unlike most existing methods, this method warps image objects based on speci ed feature contours instead of points or vectors. Results of this method demonstrate that increasing the number of contour features distributed on the warping image reduces the computational time. However, it is slower compared with the peel-and-resample method when warping simple image objects with a single inner-feature.

Contour-Based Shape Retrieval Using Dynamic Time Warping
A dissimilarity measure for shapes described by their contour, the Cyclic Dynamic Time Warping (CDTW) dissimilarity, is introduced. The dissimilarity measure is based on Dynamic Time Warping of cyclic strings, i.e., strings with no definite starting/ending points. The Cyclic Edit Distance algorithm by Maes cannot be directly extended to compute the CDTW dissimilarity, as we show in the paper. W...
متن کاملFacial feature extraction and image warping using PCA based statistic model
A new algorithm is proposed to extract the facial features and estimate the control points for facial image warping using the Principle Component Analysis (PCA) based statistic face model. In this algorithm, first a full-face model consisting the contour points and the control points is built. Based on a number of manually marked training samples, the prior distribution of the full-face model c...
متن کاملEffective Removal of Artifacts from Views Synthesized using Depth Image Based Rendering
Depth Image Based Rendering (DIBR), as a freeviewpoint synthesis technique, enables interactive selection of the view for watching. However, many rendering methods based on DIBR usually bring contour, crack and disocclusion artifacts. To address these problems, we propose effective methods to remove these artifacts. Firstly, before warping, the reference depth maps and color images are analyzed...
متن کاملReal-Time Lip Tracking for Audio-Visual Speech Recognition Applications
Developments in dynamic contour tracking permit sparse representation of the outlines of moving contours. Given the increasing computing power of general-purpose workstations it is now possible to track human faces and parts of faces in real-time without special hardware. This paper describes a real-time lip tracker that uses a Kalman lter based dynamic contour to track the outline of the lips....
متن کاملCage Active Contours for image warping and morphing
Cage Active Contours (CACs) have shown to be a framework for segmenting connected objects using a new class of parametric region-based active contours. The CAC approach deforms the contour locally by moving cage’s points through affine transformations. The method has shown good performance for image segmentation, but other applications have not been studied. In this paper, we extend the method ...
